June Newsletter!

Dear Guardian,
We have had a blast this past month being pirates! We met a new friend named Buccaneer Bunny who taught us many new things about God's word. This month we are going to be learning about Barnabas, Noah, and Daniel. I encourage you to talk to your child about each weeks lesson. On the back of each weeks coloring page are ideas that the family can do every day of the week! Please take a look and have fun!

April's Teacher of the Month.....

Laura thank you so much for all you do! We are all so blessed to have you on the River Kids team. You are an amazing teacher and you love for these kids shines through in all you do. They love coming to class when you are there. You teach them that church and worshipping God is fun! You love on them and speak God's word into their hearts. You are such a blessing and I am thankful for you! Thank you thank you thank you for all you do!

March Inner "2" ber News 2009 Part 1

Dear Parents or Guardians,

I hope this letter finds you having great start to the new year! We are starting a new unit on being thankful! The object of this unit is to help your child learn to thank God for the Bible! This unit your child we learn the story of Moses and the ten commandments! The story is the same for the whole unit just with different key concepts each week. They will bring home a coloring page each week that will tell you what they learned about and help you talk about it through out the week! I will also be posting a bible treasure lesson each week on this blog that will help you talk about that weeks lesson at home! Below is the bible verse and lessons for the next three weeks!

This month we are going to start something new in our classroom! We are asking that each parent brings in a sippy cup for their child! If you are a regular attendee and would like to just bring in a sippy cup with your child's name on it and leave it at church we will wash it each week and have it ready for your child the next week! If you do not want to bring one just to leave at church please remember to bring one with your child each week! The reason we are doing this is because we go through so many paper cups just in one week that the kids use for 30 seconds. So in a way you can say we are going a little green! :)

We are truly honored to teach each and everyone of your children! They are a blessing in our lives and we look forward to seeing their cute, smiling face each week! Thank you for trusting us with your child each week! If you have any questions feel free to contact me anytime!

March's Teacher of the Month is......

MRS. TRACI HABER

Mrs. Traci has been teaching for many months and the kids really love her. She does a great job with the kids and she truly loves them. She brings a new approach to the classroom that is fresh and interject. They enjoy when she reads to them and gets on the floor and plays with them. Thank you Traci for being so willing to help wherever you are need and whenever. You are a huge blessing to me, the kids, and the children's ministry! It is an honer to work with you and to watch you interact with the kids. Great job Mrs. Traci!

Exciting things Happening with the River Kids!

So I thought I would tell you guys about an exciting thing that is happening through out the River kids ministries! The River Trippers have started a reward system where if they bring their bible, bring a friend, bring tithe, and/or memorize there memory verse for the week they get a sticker for each one they do each week! Each time a child gets 10 stickers they get to pick an area of the church they would like to serve in. One of the areas is children's ministry which would mean the younger kids! Last week we had Grace Kline come and help in The Spring as well as in The Brook she loved it and the kids loved her! We are looking forward to seeing more of our older river kids coming and serving in our younger classes as well as other areas of the church! The River Trippers are working hard to earn their stickers and really do enjoy serving so when you see a river kid serving in our church make sure to give them a high five and tell them what an amazing job they are doing! It is so awesome to watch our kids serve Jesus and our church family!

Meet Your River Guide!

Hi my name is Jinny MacDonald and I am the River Guide for Inner "2" bers and Mild 2 Wild. I have worked in children's ministry at this church for over 10 years and love every minute of it! I have had a huge heart for kids ever since I was a little girl! I have always wanted a big family of my own and pray one day I will. I know that God has big callings on each of your kids lives and I am so honored that I get to be a part of the amazing plans God has for them. It is such a joy to see each cute little face walk into the inner "2" ber class ready for another day at church! I was raised in a christian home by two amazing parents who taught me the love of Jesus Christ. My goal for all these classes is to be able to show your kids what the love of Jesus Christ looks like. Not just through me but through every teacher who has the privilege to teach each of your children! I am so excited to have the privilege to teach and work with each parent, teacher, and child who walks through the doors of inner "2" bers / mild 2 wild! I am a preschool teacher here in Durango and if you can't tell I love surrounding myself with kids! I am so excited to see what God has in store for the river kids ministries here at the river church! I love this age group because they are so ready to know who Jesus is to them and how to talk about to Jesus!
