Reminders:

4. Please encourage your child to remember their key concept each week they will get a treat if they can tell their teach their key concept.

Joshua (July 5,2009)

This last Sunday we learned about Joshua and the battle of Jericho. We got to pretend to be the Israelites and march around our Lego wall 7 times! The kids made their own horns which they got to blown in after we walked around on the seventh time and then the wall came tumbling down! What amazing fun we had! It is always so much fun to watch the kids act out the bible stories and have fun doing it! :)Madi and Elisabeth dancing to Jesus!

Daniel in the Lions Den (June 28, 2009)

This week we learned about Daniel in the Lions Den. We also got to sing songs to Jesus and pray over Isaiah before he went to have his surgery. We had a fun time acting out this bible story and the kids loved having a role in the story! :)

June Newsletter!

Dear Guardian,
We have had a blast this past month being pirates! We met a new friend named Buccaneer Bunny who taught us many new things about God's word. This month we are going to be learning about Barnabas, Noah, and Daniel. I encourage you to talk to your child about each weeks lesson. On the back of each weeks coloring page are ideas that the family can do every day of the week! Please take a look and have fun!

Laura thank you so much for all you do! We are all so blessed to have you on the River Kids team. You are an amazing teacher and you love for these kids shines through in all you do. They love coming to class when you are there. You teach them that church and worshipping God is fun! You love on them and speak God's word into their hearts. March Inner "2" ber News 2009 Part 1

Dear Parents or Guardians,

I hope this letter finds you having great start to the new year! We are starting a new unit on being thankful! The object of this unit is to help your child learn to thank God for the Bible! This unit your child we learn the story of Moses and the ten commandments! The story is the same for the whole unit just with different key concepts each week. They will bring home a coloring page each week that will tell you what they learned about and help you talk about it through out the week! I will also be posting a bible treasure lesson each week on this blog that will help you talk about that weeks lesson at home! Below is the bible verse and lessons for the next three weeks!

This month we are going to start something new in our classroom! We are asking that each parent brings in a sippy cup for their child! If you are a regular attendee and would like to just bring in a sippy cup with your child's name on it and leave it at church we will wash it each week and have it ready for your child the next week! If you do not want to bring one just to leave at church please remember to bring one with your child each week! The reason we are doing this is because we go through so many paper cups just in one week that the kids use for 30 seconds. So in a way you can say we are going a little green! :)

We are truly honored to teach each and everyone of your children! They are a blessing in our lives and we look forward to seeing their cute, smiling face each week! Thank you for trusting us with your child each week! If you have any questions feel free to contact me anytime!

March's Teacher of the Month is......

MRS. TRACI HABER

Mrs. Traci has been teaching for many months and the kids really love her. She does a great job with the kids and she truly loves them. She brings a new approach to the classroom that is fresh and interject. They enjoy when she reads to them and gets on the floor and plays with them. Thank you Traci for being so willing to help wherever you are need and whenever. You are a huge blessing to me, the kids, and the children's ministry! It is an honer to work with you and to watch you interact with the kids. Great job Mrs. Traci!

Exciting things Happening with the River Kids!

So I thought I would tell you guys about an exciting thing that is happening through out the River kids ministries! The River Trippers have started a reward system where if they bring their bible, bring a friend, bring tithe, and/or memorize there memory verse for the week they get a sticker for each one they do each week! Each time a child gets 10 stickers they get to pick an area of the church they would like to serve in. One of the areas is children's ministry which would mean the younger kids! Last week we had Grace Kline come and help in The Spring as well as in The Brook she loved it and the kids loved her! We are looking forward to seeing more of our older river kids coming and serving in our younger classes as well as other areas of the church! The River Trippers are working hard to earn their stickers and really do enjoy serving so when you see a river kid serving in our church make sure to give them a high five and tell them what an amazing job they are doing! It is so awesome to watch our kids serve Jesus and our church family!

Meet Your River Guide!

Hi my name is Jinny MacDonald and I am the River Guide for Inner "2" bers and Mild 2 Wild. I have worked in children's ministry at this church for over 10 years and love every minute of it! I have had a huge heart for kids ever since I was a little girl! I have always wanted a big family of my own and pray one day I will. I know that God has big callings on each of your kids lives and I am so honored that I get to be a part of the amazing plans God has for them. It is such a joy to see each cute little face walk into the inner "2" ber class ready for another day at church! I was raised in a christian home by two amazing parents who taught me the love of Jesus Christ. My goal for all these classes is to be able to show your kids what the love of Jesus Christ looks like. Not just through me but through every teacher who has the privilege to teach each of your children! I am so excited to have the privilege to teach and work with each parent, teacher, and child who walks through the doors of inner "2" bers / mild 2 wild! I am a preschool teacher here in Durango and if you can't tell I love surrounding myself with kids! I am so excited to see what God has in store for the river kids ministries here at the river church! I love this age group because they are so ready to know who Jesus is to them and how to talk about to Jesus! February News Letter!

Dear Guardian,

This month we are learning about How Jesus Cares for People! Each week your child is read a short story about how Jesus cares for people. The story is the same each week for this Unit! The story we are reading about is how Jesus feeds the people with two loafs and 5 fishes! Each week your child will bring home a coloring page that shows you what we have talked about in Children's Church that week. I would like to encourage you to talk with you child about what they have learned at church through out the week. We have also been working on worshiping Jesus and they love this part of class almost as much as they love snack time. They all dance together and do the motions that their teachers are doing. They all love raising their hands to Jesus and man is it just so precious! We are also working on praying to Jesus! We direct them in what to say but each of the kids in the class love talking to Jesus before we have snack and start our lesson. We would love for you as your kids guardian to encourage your child to do all of these things at home! First talk about the weeks lesson, worship Jesus (even if it is in the car on your way to somewhere), and pray to Jesus! We truly enjoy each and everyone of the kids that walks through the door each week! Thank you so much for allowing us to be apart of your child's walk with Jesus!

The purpose for this class is to allow your child to know the love of Jesus in a fun and creative classroom. Each of our teachers love kids and feel the calling to teach your child the love of Jesus!
